Our 2015 Recap
2015 was a huge year for us, we went on several adventures, moved into a new home and lost 3 people that were near and dear to us. Here's a recap of our 2015.
January
We rang in the New Year at a cabin our family visits almost every year. We spent a week visiting Civil War battle fields, hiking through the woods, catching snowflakes on our tongues, playing Cards Against Humanity with Elle's cousins and drinking moonshine by the bonfire (Read more here....).
Later that month we went on our first trip out of the country together. We went on a cruise with Elle's parents and spent a week exploring Aruba, Bonaire and Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos.
In Aruba, we went off roading through the Arubian desert where we discovered beautiful land bridges, the Ayo Rock Formations, an Ostrich Farm and cheap beer (Read more here...).
The snorkeling in Bonaire was incredible! We saw several sea turtles and gorgeous fish swimming on the reef (Read more here...). I think we'll definitely be back!
We nursed sun burns in Grand Turk. We spent the day shopping, laying under gigantic palms and hanging out at Margaritaville (Read more here...).
February
In February we did "Redneck Things" and had third row seats at the Monster Truck Show. Elle nearly had a heart attack at least 87 different times, but we had a blast. I have a feeling we'll be going again next year (Read more...).
April
Happy Easter! Parker and LB LOVED their Easter Baskets.
May
In May we said "goodbye" to the 601 and hello to Life on Dawn Creek. We traded in our 2 bedroom apartment for a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home with a good sized yard for the girls to run around in. Life is sooooooooooo much better now that we are out of that apartment!
Ashley and LB's favorite thing about living on Dawn Creek (besides the proximity to Mama Swim's cooking) is being near the lake. The two of them love spending the weekends swimming together in the fresh, cool water.
June & July
June, July & August were HOT, HOT, HOT! We spent a lot of time hanging out with the nieces and putting them to work on household projects. Olivia learned how to garden, sand down wood and helped the day bed in the Dallas Room.
September
Ashley's beloved Carolina Panthers faced off against Elle's Jacksonville Jaguars. The Panthers whooped the Jags 20-9.
Our family grew by one when Ricochet (almost literally) fell from the sky and into our arms. Read more about his tragic story (and forgive us for the pronouns) here.
November
In November we left the kids behind with their grandparents to visit Ashley's boyfriend, Jason Witten, in Tampa. We won't discuss the outcome of the game...
December
In December we threw a bitchin' Christmas party and celebrated the holiay with Elle's family.
As you can see, our year was filled with many highs but we also suffered a few lows. Our families said goodbye to Ashley's beloved Pawpaw, her cousin Blake and Elle's Grandpa Ray. They will be sadly missed and forever remembered.
