Hurricane Matthew Update Part Six
Hello again! The last we heard the storm had been downgraded to Category 2 with winds of 110 MPH. The storm is 40 miles east of Jacksonville Beach, or about 50 miles from us, as the crow flies. Strangely enough, the wind and the rain seem to have actually increased. At least here. We're now at 11 1/2" of rain total since Wednesday. The limb that broke off the tree behind our house is still dangling by two relatively thick vines.
Miraculously, we still have power. It's extremely dark here (pitch black in fact) so we are thankful we can use the lights.
My cell phone service is going in and out but we have a constant WIFI connection.
For our family that is reading this, Amy and David evacuated to mom and dad's house this morning. Their household, along with Justin's and, Melissa/Scott's are all without power but doing well. There are trees down all throughout the area (including near Mom and Dad's house and Justin's house) however none of us have any structural damage. Mom and dad did lose a portion of their fence but nothing else has been reported at this time.
Keep us in your thoughts. It's almost over.
