Family Christmas

Hello friends and family! We hope that you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones. We celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve with the pups and spent Christmas day with Elle's family. The family all gathered at mom and dad's house for our traditional Christmas morning breakfast: waffles (my great-grandfather's recipe), eggs and bacon.

After breakfast we exchanged gifts. Mom tried something new this year; instead of writing names on everyone's presents she assigned everyone their own wrapping paper. It was so much easier than having to search for the tags and figure out who each gift belonged to.

Everyone truly outdid themselves this year. A lot of the gifts were personalized which made them extra special. It was great to see how much the girls enjoyed opening all of their goodies.

We spent the early afternoon playing with the girls new toys and testing out Olivia's new kayak in the living room. We bought Olivia the game "Pie Face" and she couldn't wait for us to be covered in whipped cream. Harper wasn't as willing to get smacked in the face with a wad of cream but to each their own.

We rejoined the family for Christmas dinner and as usual we walked away completely and totally stuffed. As always, mom outdid herself. The food was fantastic! We had a peaceful, drama free holiday (aren't those the best??) surrounded by some of the people that we love the most.

It's hard believe Christmas is over. Today we packed away all of our Christmas decor, took down our Christmas trees and swept up the remaining Christmas Herpes (Ashley's charming term for glitter). It's a bit depressing but I keep reminding myself that I can decorate again in 11 months!
